Don't Let the Bozos Grind You Down

Graffiti 1.0 is due to be released today (February 18th, 2008). While doing some early morning web surfing I came across a great line by Guy Kawasaki, "Don't Let the Bozos Grind You Down".

Graffiti v. Wordpress - Part II

Charles Stricklin wrote a post called, "Graffiti disses WordPress" because of an adSense campaign run by Telligent.

However, Charles believes this is really about open source vs. commercial software.

What they seem to be saying, without coming out and just saying it, is, “Open Source Software = bad, proprietary = good.” And that’s a valid subject open to debate, but don’t start slinging mud and then skirt the issue.

Graffiti CMS Graffiti is coming along nicely and we are getting very close to a beta. Actually from a code/feature perspective we are beta ready. We just need to flush out some more of the documentation and all those little things that go along with releasing a product.

Just to wet your pallet a little more, here is a quick video/demo Rob put together a little while ago.

Ditch Confirmations

confirmation James Avery wrote a post, "Modals or No more popups" inquiring about modal solutions. I really do not have an opinion on the different options :), but his post reminded me of a rule set for myself while working on Graffiti: Never use Popups unless they are absolutely positively needed.

Graffiti CMS FAQ

Graffiti Logo Simpable is the second site to go live on Graffiti CMS. We will soon be publishing the official Graffiti site, but until then, I am going to publish a couple of posts here about what's going on with this new project. My goal in the future is to talk more about things like the lessons learned in developing Community Server which have been applied to Graffiti, but for now, it will be mostly product related.
